Thomas Woltz – The New York Projects

Thomas Woltz, Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects, will present a range of NBW projects in and around New York – a brownstone garden in Carnegie Hill, a residence on Long Island, the courtyard design for East Harlem School, a historical site and park at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and finally, the large public plaza at Hudson Yards. These projects will present the firm’s range in working at different scales while addressing a variety of scopes and program. While the firm does not adhere to a particular style, their philosophy and process become evident as the driving forces behind these projects.

Thomas Woltz, an architect and landscape architect, is the owner and principal of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects, a 35-person firm with offices in New York, San Francisco and Charlottesville, VA. The firms’ work has recently been documented in a monograph published by Princeton Architectural Press entitled: Garden, Park, Community, Farm. NBW has garnered over 80 national and international awards for their innovative design work. Current projects include Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida, Centennial Park in Nashville, Coastal Maine Botanic Gardens, and Cornwall Park in Auckland, New Zealand.
