Michael Maltzan, FAIA, is the founder and design principal of Michael Maltzan Architecture, Inc. in Los Angeles. Rooted in the belief that architecture is a catalyst for new experiences and an agent for change, Michael Maltzan’s work creates physical, cultural and social connections across a range of scales and programs.His most notable projects include Inner-City Arts, New Carver Apartments, San Francisco State University’s Mashouf Performing Arts Center, MoMA-QNS, Pittman Dowell Residence, Regen Projects, Ovitz Family Collection and the Hammer Museum Billy Wilder Theater. Current projects include the Winnipeg Museum of Art’s Inuit Art Center, St. Petersburg Pier, Star Apartments, One Santa Fe, Art Center College of Design, UCLA Poolside Housing, and the new Los Angeles Sixth Street Viaduct. Maltzan received a Master of Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. He holds both a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design.
