A) ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN This category includes architectural work on multiple typologies and uses, built in the American continent during the period in between 2008 to 2012 and that have not participated in previous BAQ editions.

B) URBAN AND LANSCAPE DESIGN This category includes urban and landscape design projects built or at construction stage (with at least one phase completed that overcomes the 30% of the complete project) related to the creation, improvement, renovation and reuse of urban and historic spaces, built in the American continent during the period in between 2008 to 2012 and that have not participated in previous BAQ editions.

C) SOCIAL HABITAT AND DEVELOPMENT (WORLDWIDE COMPETITION) The competition is oriented to identify and promote architectural practices and built projects that demonstrate having a positive and tangible impact in the improvement of the living conditions of low-income families and the improvement of a built environment of society. This category is open for built projects or programs of new or renovated social habitat, built in the American continent during the period in between 2008 to 2012 and that have not participated in previous BAQ editions.
