Remember the Triangle Fire Memorial
The Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition seeks entries for an international design competition to honor the victims of the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire and its legacy.
Designers have the chance to wrap almost the entire façade of the New York City building where the blaze occurred. Anyone with an idea is encouraged to submit.
A jury of architects, designers, and labor activists will choose the winning design in a two-stage process, with a grand prize of $5,000. The jury includes Daniel Libeskind, FAIA; Deborah Berke, FAIA; Wendy Feuer, Asst. Commissioner of Urban Design & Art,NYC Dept. of Transportation; Richard Greenwald, labor historian and Dean of St. Joseph’s College.
