We celebrated our 100th issue last night at USM Modular Furniture’s beautiful showroom in Soho (thank you USM and Anna Bilski). There were over 200 of our loyal New York readers and advertisers there to mark the event with lovely little USM appetizers [Ed.: think Tadao Ando meets Asymptote], wine, and words from yours truly.

But we know that we have a much larger readership around the world, too, through our California and soon-to-be Chicago paper, on our website, and right here on the AN blog, all of whom we also want to thank for supporting us. We also have to thank our advertisers–many who have been with us from the start for believing in our paper as we grow into new markets and media.

The celebrating just did not stop from Election Night right on through til Thursday night, when we ushered in our 100th issue in style at the glassy and classy USM showroom in Soho. Many friends joined us and–even more impressive–stayed til the lights went down on our stunning mural of your favorite contemporary NY buildings.

Among the loyal (and the loaded) were Calvin Tsao, Charles Renfro, Morris Adjmi, Carol Willis of the Skyscraper Museum, James Sanders, Stan Allen, David Ling, Sylvia Smith of FXFowle, Ashley O’Neill of SOM, Lee Walsh of Polshek Partnership, and AN contributors Aric Chen and Alex Gorlin. Then came the sobering moment when we posed for a group portrait, AN 2008! We may look somewhat hysterical but we could not be more geared up for years of thrills in architecture news.
