MAS asked four of New York’s most respected design firms to re-envision New York’s Penn Station – the busiest train station in North America – and Madison Square Garden. The four firms, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture, SHoP Architects and SOM, have been working since April and will unveil their designs LIVE for the first time on Wednesday, May 29.
Just this week, the Department of City Planning approved a 15-year permit for Madison Square Garden, rejecting the Garden’s request for a permit to operate on the site in perpetuity.
The Alliance for a New Penn Station applauds this, but we must keep the pressure on as the City Council now has final approval. Let’s ensure a New Penn Station and Madison Square Garden become a reality. Jump-start the future with us on Wednesday, May 29.
