Los Angeles: 10th Annual AltBuild Conference & Expo, May 10-11, 2013

The Alternative Building Materials & Design Expo (AltBuild) returns to Santa Monica for its 10th year on May 10th & 11th. As Southern California’s most substantive, ongoing and extensive green building and design expo, it caters to industry professionals —architects, builders, contractors, engineers, landscapers—and the public. The conference lineup features thought-leadership level presentations by over 40 premier speakers, and the expo offers over 150 exhibitors.

The event is FREE. Friday’s industry-focused programming (CE/Professional Development) is presented by the Building Industry Association (BIA)-LA/Ventura County Chapter, AIA|LA, USGBC-LA Chapter, and the City of Santa Monica Office of Sustainability and the Environment.

This year’s lineup of speakers features Sustainable Sites Initiative’s Director Danielle Pieranunzi, as Friday morning’s keynote (her L.A. County debut); current AIA|LA President Scott Johnson; Principal at Moore Rubell Yudell James Mary O’Connor; Founding Principal of Studio of Environmental Architecture David Hertz; President of Koning Eizenberg, Julie Eizenberg; Founding Principal at Rios Clementi Hale Studios Bob Hale; Wally Geer, President, Greymar Assoc.; LA/Ventura Building Industry Assn. Director Holly Schroeder; Sarah Barnard, Principal Interior Designer and LEED AP, Sarah Barnard Designs abd Organic Architect’s Principal, and author, Eric Corey Freed, among many others.
