Inner Journeys Outer Visions

Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery is pleased to present Inner Journeys Outer Visions, a group exhibition that showcases artists who mine other disciplines like psychology, anthropology, physics and science, philosophy, and theology to explore “something more than ordinary perception in our lives,” says curator Sara Cannon. Artists in the exhibition are Lynn Aldrich, Craig Keith Antrim, Adam Berg, John Frame, Bonita Helmer, Gilah Yelin Hirsch, Ruth, Weisberg, and Patty Wickman.

Inner Journeys Outer Visions looks at the persistent yearning for spiritual enlightenment in contemporary thought and art. Through the ages and through a diversity of styles and thinking artists have explored color theory, abstraction, psychology, religion, the occult, and esoterica as sources to make visible the invisible and to illuminate the unfathomable through art.
