The Union Square project by Gustafson Guthrie Nichol is presented as part of the exhibition Beneath the Moon II: Journey through the City at The San Diego Museum of Art, on view through April 30, 2013.
The Seattle-based landscape architecture firm Gustafson Guthrie Nichol’s design for Union Square won the National Mall Design Competition in 2012. Union Square, located at the base of the Capitol, is the site of major historic events from presidential inaugurations to public gatherings and demonstrations.
