David Alan Ross: Animal Style
Lecture: NewSchool of Architecture and Design Auditorium
David Alan Ross is a licensed architect in California and principal of Code-A in New York. A platform for exploratory architecture, Code-A fuels a series of automated applications, leading to both technological and theoretical transformations in systemic design. In his current research, Animal Style, Ross further explores building morphology through goal-directed, high-fidelity models and challenges an essential function of architecture: to continuously acclimate the body between natural and mechanized systems for performative and sensational effect. Ross is an award-winning author and designer and has taught at institutions across the country, including UC Berkeley, CCA, and SCI-Arc.
