Architecture and The City Festival: Opening Night Party + 280 Freeway Competition Announcement

Join AIA San Francisco and the Center for Architecture + Design for our Opening Night Party, as we kick off the festival with a salute to the many individuals, organizations, cultural institutions and nonprofits that help make the month of celebration, exploration and inspiration possible. Come meet and mingle with members of the architecture and design community, sample bites from the city’s latest food trucks, and share your favorite buildings that make San Francisco the best city in the world. This year, interactive media agency Obscura Digital will host the festive evening at its Dogpatch headquarters, designed by IwamotoScott Architecture.

The Center for Architecture + Design and The Seed Fund will also announce the winners of the inaugural “Reimagine. Reconnect. Restore. What if 280 Came Down?” competition. The competition encouraged entrants to submit concepts for public art, buildings, landscape treatments, public amenities, or other urban design interventions that envisioned our city without the elevated Highway 280 north of 16th Street.
