For the attention of energetic, talented, and ambitious professionals!
Rosatom, the Russian state atomic-energy corporation announce an open international creative competition to devise a corporate design concept for workspaces and public spaces.
This competition is the first stage in a long-term project to modernize the overall look of plants in this sector – from the interior design of the science laboratories to the external appearance of the atomic power stations.
The concept developed by competition entrants must meet the exacting requirements laid down by Rosatom for the creation of a motivating environment. The principal elements in this concept must be easily applicable to interior spaces with different functions.
“Space can and must be efficient!” is the main thesis for the competition. Entrants are asked to find a solution for a highly interesting challenge: how to make the interiors of buildings used by the atomic industry participate fully in the unique work process?
Entrants must mobilize their entire creative potential in order to demonstrate the infinite capabilities of interior design – capabilities which stretch far beyond the merely utilitarian. We look forward to seeing original, modern ideas and an approach that ventures beyond the beaten path!
All participants in the competition who have been selected and been awarded a certain number of points by the distinguished jury will receive an advantage during subsequent realization of the project at ‘pilot sites’ and in reproduction of the concept at other plants run by Rosatom. Their points will be added to their scores in the bids competition to develop detailed design drawings.
The authors of the best projects will receive awards of money.
There will also be special prizes, including trips to plants in the atomic-power sector that are normally closed to the public, as well as the opportunity to visit a unique engineering projects and see advanced scientific research in action.
The competition is open to professional architects, designers, and planners from all over the world.
DEADLINE: Monday, December 15, 2014.
